...
I remember we fantasized about becoming sisters in law later. I think it would have been fun :-)

Through the years our friendship got some big bumps and bruises and we even lost contact for some years. We did hear about each others life during that period, because also our parents have contact with each other. After my divorce we came in contact again, and it was like there hadn't been years in between. Now we have on regular base contact, mostly through mail. She has visited me a couple of times here in Norway. And it always was as in old days, cosy and fun!

She is just like me a big cat-lover and has three of those sweet creatures herself. As her boyfriend is photographer I can recommend her homepage. It contains beautiful pictures of her cats and some lovely collages. One of my old cats I got through her and gave her the short name I often use for Monique: Nikkie.

Monique is a woman with a great heart and a very warm personality. We can talk about almost everything and she has stood by me in many different episodes in my life. Good ones and bad ones. She even offered me and my cats a home when I was not sure weather to stay in Norway or go back to Holland. It needs a special friend to offer you that! I love her for who she. Always a listening ear when you need one, and warm words of comfort. Even though we are far apart, it feels like we are close.  And we are! :-)
