Oslo was called Tigerstaden to describe the city as dangerous and merciless. In 1870 Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson wrote a poem in which he mentioned this name (Siste Sang). Nowadays people are using the name with proud, and the old meaning has dissapeared. The Tiger is placed in front of the Central Station as a symbol for this name
